honey boiled pastries.... Has anyone ever heard of a Jewish pastry called something like Pierska? My mother in law told me it was a three sided cookie filled with raisens and nuts (sounds like hamantasha to me) BUT it was boiled in honey...perhaps baked first? She sometimes calls it something like Persckes too...This was made for her by her grand mother and they are ashkenazic jews......and she is 90 years old...I would be thrilled to be even give her the name of this treat....thank you so much.... The name of the recipe could be a translation of the word “Teyglach” in the local language where her grandmother grew up. Reply
yumm......! i love the sound of that Reply
honey cookies My mixture came out like a batter, so I had to spoon it onto a baking tray. The cookies did not come out like a biscuit, but more like a fatless sponge cake which was a little disappointing. Maybe if I had rested the mixture longer in the fridge they may have been different, but I am not so sure. Reply
Yeah, I had the same thing happen. I did try to put in it the fridge longer and that helped. Reply

Recipes for Kids What are each of the recipes for; what do those foods represent; why are they used at that particular time. Reply
Honey Cookies I found baking these as the recipe calls for to be more like a bread than a cookie. However, I tried not beating so long, refridgerating the dough, and only baking for 5 minutes and they are a little more like a cookie. Reply
